Design Differently.

We consider design the essence of engineering, so it is the central thrust of the program. Our multidisciplinary curriculum allows students to understand how design functions across a variety of disciplines,包括 the physical 科学s 和数学.

Our focus on teaching and design, in addition to our special attention to developing students' communication, 人际关系, and leadership skills, differentiates us from hundreds of other engineering programs across the country.

Engineering Science (B.S.)

The Engineering Science (Bachelor of Science) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Engineering, General Engineering, Engineering Physics, Engineering Science and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.

The mission of the Engineering Science 部门 at 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 University is to provide students with a broad-based undergraduate engineering education by offering a design-oriented, multi-disciplinary engineering 科学 curriculum in the context of the University's traditions of the liberal arts and 科学s.

Program Educational Objectives

The Engineering Science 部门 graduates are expected to attain the following objectives within a few years after graduation:

  1. Successful practice of engineering design and analysis in their field;
  2. Application of a broad background in liberal arts and 科学s when solving engineering problems with humanistic dimensions in their professional practice;
  3. Advancement in their engineering careers with increased responsibility and leadership roles;
  4. Effective oral and written communication with diverse groups of people;
  5. The pursuit of continuing or advanced education relevant to professional interests.

Engineering Science Students are expected to accomplish the following by the time of graduation:

  1. An ability to identify, 制定, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, 科学, 和数学.
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, 安全, 和福利, as well as global, 文化, 社会, 环境, and 经济 factors.
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, 经济, 环境, and societal contexts.
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, 建立目标, 计划任务, and meet objectives.
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

Student Enrollment and Graduation Data

  • In the 2022-23 academic year, 148 students were enrolled in the Engineering Science Program and 31 graduated.
  • In the 2021-22 academic year, 145 students were enrolled in the Engineering Science Program and 28 graduated.
